How to Use an SW-420 Vibration Sensor

The SW-420 Vibration Sensor Module is a simple electronic sensor designed to detect vibration, shock and movement. It is commonly used in Arduino projects, alarm systems and automation applications.

When vibration reaches the selected sensitivity level, the module provides a digital output signal that can be read by a microcontroller such as an Arduino or ESP32.

SW-420 Pin Connection

The module normally includes three main connections:

🔴 VCC — Connect to the power supply.

⚫ GND — Connect to ground.

🔵 DO (Digital Output) — Connect to a digital input pin on your Arduino, ESP32 or other microcontroller.

Adjusting the Sensitivity

The SW-420 module includes an onboard potentiometer that allows you to adjust its sensitivity.

By turning the potentiometer, you can change the vibration level required to trigger the sensor output.

Common Applications

The SW-420 Vibration Sensor can be used for:

  • Alarm and security systems

  • Vibration monitoring

  • Shock and impact detection

  • Arduino projects

  • ESP32 projects

  • DIY automation systems
